Editorial policy
Local County Journal aims to make countryside subjects clear, considered and worth returning to. We separate established information from interpretation, use careful wording where accounts may differ and correct errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and care
We check names, definitions and factual statements before publication, and take care not to present a general explanation as a description of every county. If a subject is uncertain or varies by place, we make that limit clear. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page; we review it and amend published wording when warranted.
Editorial independence
Editorial choices are made for relevance to the publication and its readers. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage or editorial approval. We do not present personal opinion as settled fact, and we do not imply that a contribution represents every rural community.
Partner material and illustrations
Sponsored work and partner placements are identified clearly as such and kept distinct from ordinary editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; when that is the case, they are identified so readers can distinguish illustration from documentary depiction.
The countryside rewards a closer look
A familiar lane can change with the light, the crop and the season. We pay attention to those shifts and to the lasting marks people and land leave on one another.
